We are Powerful

The thing I love most about writing as an art is the amazing images, ideas, and thoughts that a mere sentence can provoke and create.

Words are powerful. They are deceptively small, and while we like to think that one, tiny word does not say much, it is the essence of language, communication, which is what helps us connect with other humans.

Words can convey all meaning, and the combination of them is what really makes us powerful. Words create community and love.

Of course, words can often be negative.

I am alone.

I am misunderstood.

I am worthless.

I could be a better person.

I need to do more.

These are things that go through so many heads everyday. The negativity destroys people, and the words are given power over them.

But that power is not just in words. It is within us.

There are thousands of combinations of words, and not only do they give us the power to communicate, they give us the ability to tell ourselves important reminders. I try to do this everyday, remembering to say to myself that even only a small combination of words can change my world.

I am kind.

I am friendly.

I am worthy.

I am loved.

I have potential.

I have a future in writing.

I will make the world a better place.

It is important to remember that while words can hold negative meanings, we are given the power to create what we want. We can use positivity and kindness to make our words powerful. Kind words to those around us, as well as to ourselves.
